Thank you for participating in this survey.

The aim of this survey is to assess the availability and quality of data related to buildings and industrial processes in the context of BIM-based energy simulations of industrial buildings across Europe. The survey is conducted as part of a master’s thesis at the Institute of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Building of the RWTH Aachen University. It is based on a questionnaire originally developed within the framework of the IEA EBC Annex 91 (https://annex91.iea-ebc.org/).

Please note that this survey does not ask for any actual data or documents. You should only indicate the availability and level of documentation.

This survey is intended for technical and managerial professionals involved in planning, operation, management or optimization of industrial buildings, and processes. This applies in particular to:

  • Engineering and planning
  • Facility management, operations, and maintenance
  • Industrial production, process engineering, and plant operation
  • Energy management and technical operations

All responses will be treated anonymously and collected in compliance with data protection regulations using SoSci Survey. The questionnaire has been reviewed and approved by the Ethics Committee of the RWTH Aachen University and takes approximately 15 – 20 minutes to complete. There are no right or wrong answers. Your input, including information on missing or unavailable data, is highly valuable for identifying current data availability, data gaps, practical challenges, and the overall digital readiness of the industrial building sector.

Thank you for your contribution to this research.

Kind regards
